I-Creamy Artisan Gelato, Sydney CBD

Hidden from the main street foot traffic, I-Creamy Artisan Gelato is located inside Skyview Plaza, off George St. If you decide to venture through the plaza, you'll soon encounter the large crowd surrounding the store - either curious bystanders, customers patiently waiting, or those that have already been graced with their gelato and are happily eating away.

Several of their flavours (including their coconut & lychee sorbet, white chocolate miso, Thai milk, durian, black sesame) have won gold or silver awards at the annual Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Show for the past few years so it's certified with a tick by industry experts. As you may notice in the below pictures, some gelato flavours have a bright yellow tags (they seriously look similar to minions, although I highly doubt I-Creamy is affiliated in any way with the movie) - indicating the awards level of the gelato - and others have a green clover/flower tag - indicating that there is adequate gelato for the staff to make 'flower gelato's.

I-Creamy offers some visually awe-inspiring 'flower gelato', which are carefully crafted by staff by slowly add on the gelato 'petals' to the waffle cone:

Before my visit, I was interesting in trying out the white chocolate miso, Thai milk and durian gelato flavours but alas, the white chocolate miso flavour wasn't available nor my next choice (black sesame) so I ended up choosing pistachio along with Thai milk and durian:

Flower Gelato (three flavours; $8.90):
Durian, Thai Milk, Pistachio

The durian gelato had a strong smell (and taste), which I think just threw off the taste of the Thai milk and pistachio, as both had a subtle, milder taste in comparison. The gelato for all three flavours were soft and creamy but tended to melt rather thickly (sort of reminds of Aqua S - due to high water content?).

Although the 'flower gelato' is easily the subject of many awesome, drool-worthy pics, I think I'll personally stick to the normal gelato scoops, as I believe they provide a bigger serving of the creamy gelato (i.e. better value for money; also 30 cents less than the 'flower gelato' option) and require a much shorter waiting timeframe between submitting your order and receiving the gelato in hand.

There is limited seating inside/outside the store but people come and go quickly so you might be lucky to grab a spare seat.
